Our Mission

Pelorus exists to elevate the work of analysts across communities and industries—and, by extension, to help drive better decisions in business, the public sector, national defense, and anywhere information-based choices are made.

We teach analysts—and anyone seeking to think more clearly—better ways to frame problems, ask questions, and approach analysis.

Our Core Principles

  1. Analytical skill can be learned; it is not an innate talent.
  2. Everyone benefits from asking better questions, thinking critically, and using structured methods to approach problems.
  3. Questions are the gateway to all knowledge.

About Our Founder

The Pelorus Academy for Analysis was founded by Curtis Wideman a US Navy veteran and experienced cryptologist. He intends Pelorus to close a persistent gap in how analysts are trained and developed — a gap that limits effectiveness, slows career growth, and weakens mission outcomes. Curtis has 22 years worth of analytical experience in the Navy and Intelligence Community and holds a Master’s Degree in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Driven by a passion for improving analysts’ lives and work, Curtis founded Pelorus to deliver scientifically grounded, structured analysis training that is highly transferable across domains — from national security to finance, technology, and beyond.
